Excel/VBA for Creative Problem Solving Specialization is published by Coursera Academy. This specialization is designed for learners who want to dramatically change the way they use Excel spreadsheets, unlocking the ability to automate and optimize spreadsheets using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). The first two courses teach learners the fundamentals of VBA through dozens of instructional videos, a series of quizzes, and in-app programming assignments. Finally, in the third part of the course, learners will complete three “real-world” and somewhat open-ended projects that are graded through peer assessment. Learners will complete an easy project (chosen from two possible projects), a medium project (chosen from two possible projects), and a Monte Carlo simulation project (of medium difficulty). Projects include a real-time currency converter, geography tools, ultimate organizer, regression tools, Monte Carlo simulation, and score management.

Automate Excel’s Goal Seek and Solver tools and use numerical techniques to create “living solutions” to solve goal-setting and optimization problems.

Explain how to process text strings in Excel and how to write data to .txt files and import information from .txt files
Automate the entry, modification, and consolidation of information from multiple sheets into a central sheet.
Create professional user forms to interact with the user, perform advanced calculations, and manipulate data in the spreadsheet.
